1) BEST POSTER AWARDS OF THE 4th INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS ON PSYCHOPHARMACOLOGY

Three of the papers to be presented at the 4th International Congress on Psychopharmacology will receive research incentive awards.

First Prize 3.000 TL
Second Prize 2.000 TL
Third Prize 1.000 TL

ATTENTION: For the poster presentations that will be nominated for the best poster awards of 4th International Psychopharmacology Congress, the presented material should not have been published before anywhere else and the copyright transform form should have been signed for its publication in the Bulletin of Clinical Psychopharmacology. The paper should be presented in a format that meets the criteria stated in the information for authors section of the Bulletin of Clinical Psychopharmacology. The authors should submit the paper in full text. The body of the text should not exceed 1500 words excluding the abstract and references sections.

  1. Abstract in Turkish and English should be structured in the following sections: Objective, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
  2. Similarly, body of the text should be segmented as Introduction, Methods, Results, and Conclusions sections with the tables depicted where they are necessary.
  3. References section should also comply with the rules of the Bulletin of Clinical Psychopharmacology and should prioritize the articles published in Turkey (i.e. the Bulletin of Clinical Psychopharmacology, Anatolian Journal of Psychiatry, New Symposium, Turkish Journal of Psychiatry, Archives of Neuropsychiatry).For detailed information, please refer to the web site: www.psychopharmacology2011.org
  4. At least of the authors should have been registered to the 4th International Congress on Psychopharmacology.

Poster presentations not meeting the above referred criteria will not be considered as a nominee for the best poster awards of the 4th International Congress on Psychopharmacology

 

2)RESEARCH INCENTIVE AWARDS OF THE BULLETIN OF CLINICAL
 PSYCHOPHARMACOLOGY VOLUMES 19 AND 20

Three original research articles published in Volumes 19 and 20 of the Bulletin of Clinical Psychopharmacology shall be awarded with a total of 6000 Turkish Liras. The candidate articles shall be evaluated according to their originality, contribution to the literature, innovations put forward in psychiatric diagnosis and treatment, design and structure and writing of the paper as well.

3)SCHOLARSHIPS OF THE TURKISH ASSOCIATION FOR PSYCHOPHARMACOLOGY (TAP)

DEFINITION
The Turkish Association for Psychopharmacology (TAP) provides scholarships in two categories explained below to support competent scientists meeting the required criteria in their biological psychiatry works or observations that they will carry out in any country other than Turkey. These scholarships are available only for citizens of Turkey. The Executive Board of the TAP is responsible for setting up a selective council, which is to select scientists to be supported as well as providing financial support within the framework of the scholarship. The Executive Board holds the right to suspend or cancel these scholarships if decides for that (i.e. in case of any fund insufficiency). The Executive Board shall announce the number and categories of scholarships at least 6 months prior to the International Congress on Psychopharmacology which will be held in that year. Each scholarship covers travel expenses (economy class roundtrip tickets), 3-months health insurance and monthly payment of 1500 USD for a maximum period of 3 months.

3 a) CATEGORY-I: YOUNG RESEARCHER SCHOLARSHIP OF TAP

  • The applications of the residents having completed at least their 2nd year in psychiatry or pharmacology training and the specialists in the field of psychiatry or pharmacology who are currently employed in a training institution (associate professors are also included) who have not exceeded the age of 40 years are accepted.
  • Applications must be submitted simultaneously with the poster applications to the 4th International Congress on Psychopharmacology.
  • Candidates should meet the following criteria and submit the below explained documents:
  • At least 1 poster should be submitted to the 4th International Congress on Psychopharmacology.
  • Cirriculum vitae and publications list.
  • The document certifying proficiency of the candidate in foreign language skills (UDS-Interuniversity Council Foreign Language Competency Exam) should be attached to the application documents.
  • Candidates should also include a short assay of 1250-1500 words explaining their aspired psychiatry career and the role they want to play in the future of psychiatry
  • Recommendation letter from the supervisor at the relevant training facility (chief, head of department or dean).
  • Winning candidate selected among the first five runner up positions in the best poster award contest will be announced in the award ceremony which will take place at the end of the congress.
     

3 b) CATEGORY-II: CAREER DEVELOPMENT SCHOLARSHIP OF TAP
Only associate professors and professors actively engaged in scientific research and education activities are eligible for this scholarship. Although no age limit is imposed for applying to this scholarship, candidates should bear high scientific qualifications and should have contributed to the global science literature with his/her researches. Candidates should submit their personal statement to the Executive Board of the Turkish Association for Psychopharmacology (TAP) at least 1 month prior the 4th International Congress of Psychopharmacology. Candidates must indicate their country and center of preference as well as their most important 3 works and all their publications attached to their personal statement. Personal statement should be written in ENGLISH language with around 1250-1500 words and include their ideas about the future of psychiatry and the role they would like to play in that future.
The Executive Board of the Turkish Association for Psychopharmacology (TAP) has been providing the above referred scholarships since 2008 and has agreed to select two scholars for the both categories mentioned above in 2011.

OTHER INFORMATIONS

  • Correspondence regarding a paper will be made with the author who has submitted it to the system.
  • Title of paper submitted should not end with a full stop and the subject should be selected.
  • All papers entered in the system must be finalized following their control. Otherwise, the paper submitted on the system will remain incomplete.
